Lacking

Something my brain likes to do is to create problems. Does yours?

It wants to say that if I see someone else have or do something I don't have then it wants to go to comparison.

Like if I see another mom who seems to have the perfect morning routine, I compare my worst morning to her best morning.

It might bring thoughts like "I wish my husband could help drive kids to school." or "I wish I was a morning person, so I could get up early like her."

Or if I see someone go on a trip, my brain might say, "It has been too long since I went on a trip." or "My trips are never as cool as their trips."

And while I am at it, my brain might offer, "You are also terrible at taking pictures."

You can see that the spiral begins! A spiral of thoughts about how inadequate or lacking I am.

And all this because one person posted about something they did.

That person did not mean to make me feel lacking, my brain did all of that all by itself!

You are not lacking anything! And the other person is not better than you!

So next time you are tempted to feel "lacking" by a post...ask yourself, "How can I feel happy for this person and their success/life?" Be a cheerleader!

We need more cheering for each other in this world!
