How often do you fight against reality? This might look like "I never have time for me and my goals." "This isn't fair." or "Why me?" "Life is so hard." "Ugh, why can't something come easily for once?" "Why doesn't my child respect me?"
These are all dead-end thoughts that only lead us to feel unmotivated, less-than or depressed. When we see life from these types of questions, our feelings don't motivate us to change. We start to feel stuck! We feel like we have no control and we can't change.
Now is that true? NO! You can always do something about your life that will change it and make you feel better. You have so much control of your life, yet you keep offering yourself the idea that you don't have control!
You must practice living intentionally. That looks like..."Where could I find time to spend on my goals? It doesn't need to be long." "I know this feels so unfair, but how could I find something to learn out of this?" "How am I the perfect person to be going through this?" "Who could help me with this tough situation?" "How can I show respect for my child?"
Stepping away from the circumstances can help you figure out what control you have to change the circumstance!
