We find ourself busy all day long. I get to the end of the day and I am tired every.single.day. What am I worn out from? Running kids around, planning and making meals, worrying about kids' schedules, texting family and friends about life, making doctor appointments, going to doctor appointments, serving my friends and neighbors, thinking about future plans and carpools.
Do any of these things align with my Goals? Some do...like taking care of my body, fostering relationships with friends and family, but most of these things are urgent but not important.
I like to remind myself of the important things and add those in my schedule. I have found that planning one thing into my day that is just for me and my goals helps alot. For instance, I might plan from 10-10:30am to write on my book. Just spending 30 minutes on my goals as often as possible makes that goal closer to being accomplished.
